Brandt Snedeker Wins AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am- Long Time

One of our society’s biggest grammatical flaws is the improper use of the word “ironic.”  The proper use of the word is when the exact opposite of something that someone would reasonably expect to occur actually occurs; however, our society all-too-often uses the word in situations of coincidence.  Those that know me know that I cringe harder than a missed 3 foot putt when someone says something like, “It was so ironic that I was just thinking of you earlier and you just called me now,” or anything equally coincidental.  As Colin Cowherd would say, “jab an icepick through my retina.”
