It was a moment immortalized on YouTube. T-Mobile CEO John Legere was on stage during T-Mobile’s press conference at CES in Las Vegas when the topic of service in New York came up. At that point, Legere called ATT’s service “Crap,” which is a bit unusual to hear coming out of the mouth of a CEO.

ATT obviously believes in the old saying that revenge is a dish best served cold, because the nation’s second largest carrier didn’t respond immediately. In fact, it wasn’t until Thursday that ATT ran full page ads in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today. In those ads, ATT says that that T-Mobile’s network crashes twice as many times as ATT’s pipeline does, with twice as many failed calls and all at half the speed of ATT’s network.
